Installation instructions for spruce C Swedish rebate
Swedish rebate is a widely used cladding for outdoor projects such as facades, garden walls, fences, and other outdoor applications. For a good end result, correct processing, ventilation, and installation are essential. On this page, you will find the most important processing guidelines for impregnated and black-painted spruce C Swedish rebate.
Application
Swedish rebate can be used for, among other things:
✔ Exterior
✔ Wall and facade
✔ Boundary fence
✔ Various garden applications
Ventilation
Always ensure sufficient ventilation behind the wood. The ventilation space behind the wood must be at least 28 mm. Keep at least 25 mm open at both the top and bottom for vertical air circulation.
Rules and regulations
Use battens with a minimum dimension of 28 x 45 mm.
The distance between the rows should be between 40 and 60 cm center to center. Use a maximum of 40 cm on sunny and south-facing sides.
Fastening material
Due to the black treatment, the wood can absorb heat. This can cause the wood to warp more significantly. Therefore, use fasteners that are at least twice the thickness of the part to be fastened.
We advise:
✔ Round head screws
✔ Ring rivets of at least 2 times the thickness of the part
✔ Phillips head screws or suitable screws for a clean finish
Assembly
Secure the Swedish rebate at each support point with one screw or ring nail. Place these approximately 30 mm from the bottom.
Take into account sufficient movement of the wood:
✔ Leave 2 to 3 mm clearance between the parts
✔ Always mount at least 20 cm above ground level
✔ Work carefully to prevent tension in the wood
Storage and transport
Store the wood in a dry, dust-free, and flat place. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and do not seal the packaging completely airtight, so that sufficient ventilation remains possible.
Allow the materials to acclimatize at the construction site upon receipt and process them within a reasonable time.
Important:
✔ Transport and storage exclusively horizontally
✔ Protect the wood against moisture and dirt
✔ Open plastic film in time to prevent sticking
✔ Use spacers when stacking
Maintenance
For an optimal lifespan, we recommend performing minor maintenance annually. To preserve the appearance and quality of the wood, it is advised to clean the facade periodically and treat it where necessary.
Check the wood regularly for damage. Any damage must be repaired promptly to prevent moisture penetration.
