A day full of experiences by the water
On Wednesday, August 20, 2025, the spectacular SAIL-In Parade took place: the official kick-off of SAIL Amsterdam, which finally took place again after 10 years. TABS Holland, the parent company of Centrop Houtimport, organized a grand event for clients, partners, and business associates, and naturally, we were present as well.
The perfect location
The location of the TABS Holland site on the North Sea Canal makes it the perfect place to experience SAIL. Historically, timber was transported here directly from the water. During SAIL 2025, this heritage came to life once again: the ships sailed past that very same quay, where the trade and processing of timber has taken place for decades.
A full program
Between 11:30 AM and 4:00 PM, our grounds were entirely dedicated to SAIL. From the specially erected grandstand, visitors enjoyed a magnificent view of the parade. Upon entry, binoculars were handed out so that no detail would be missed. There was ample opportunity to network with fellow construction companies, suppliers, and employees of TABS Holland. Various subsidiaries and partners of TABS had stands in the supplier tent, including us from Centrop Houtimport. In addition, employees gave tours of the grounds: from the impressive timber stock to a look at the planing mill of De Twee Gebroeders, which remained in operation specifically for the day to demonstrate how wood is processed and planed. Meanwhile, food trucks and a DJ with a turntable ensured a lively atmosphere. The absolute highlight of the day was, of course, the impressive ships sailing past.
